Is Buhari a blessing or a curse? By Sabo

The question is very relevant but you shied away from actually answering it. To me, there is only one way Buhari can be a blessing and that is if he kills corruption. Corruption can only thrive in any or all of these conditions: lack of fear of God; lack of fear of authorities, conflict of interest and impunity. It is virtually impossible to instill the fear of God in every Nigerian; a problem that even prophets of God could not solve in their divine missions.

But the other three can be eliminated if Buhari rigorously enforces assets declaration law the day he decides to lead by example and declares his assets as well as those of his wife and grown up children. If he can hand over to government, whatever he cannot account for and demand that all those appointed and/or elected under his watch do the same or resign.

He should also create an office in the Presidency to randomly monitor the full compliance of this law and awaken the CCB and CCT from their slumber. If he were to do that, he would at once instill fear of authorities; eliminate conflict of interest and impunity while ensuring internal democracy in our political parties. By so doing, he will prevent money bags from hijacking political parties and installing their lackeys leading to government of thieves by thieves and for thieves. If he were to do that, he would a blessing to Nigeria. Otherwise forget it.
