You know what will happen to anyone who disrespects the Qur’an — ACF warns Buhari

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has warned president Muhammadu Buhari of the implications of disrespecting by not abiding by his oath of office as the national grapples with myriad of security challenges.

The group in a statement issued by the Forum National Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Yawe, said the Buhari's refusal to listen to Nigerians who voted him to power and whom he swore to protect, will not end well for him until he begins to honor his oath 'to the Almighty.'

It said, “Many of the security breaches have become a source of worry to northerners who voted for the present government that they thought will secure their lives and property as spelt out in the country’s constitution.

“We feel there is no need to call on President Buhari to live up tto his oath of office. He knows more than anybody else the implications of swearing on the Quran and refusing to honour your oath to the Almighty.

“We are only for the umpteenth time conveying the anger and frustrations of many Northerners to him so that he will do the needful and speedily too. It is getting too late.”

The Buhari administration has said it is making progress in its fight to end the nation's security woes. However, things got worse with the recent abduction of about 600 students in Government Science Secondary School Kankara, Katsina State last week.

The PDP in its reaction to the latest incident, said it is perplexed that the attack took place only a few days after Buhari arrived his home town for a week long holiday.

It however, said the president should prove his love for his people by cutting short his holiday and enduring the students are rescued.

The party said, “Our party holds as perplexing that at a time the people of Katsina should have heaved a sigh of relief because of his presence, the abduction happened right under Mr. President’s nose; in his home state, where he had gone holidaying."

“The PDP, standing with the entire Katsina people, charges President Muhammadu Buhari, as the commander -in - chief, who promised to lead from the front, to account for the ab'ducted students, as the large - scale ab'duction happened a few hours after the President and his security machinery took over the state."

The statement further read, “The PDP demands that President Buhari should immediately quit his needless holidaying in Daura and go in search of, and rescue the ab'ducted students, particularly having earlier admitted that issue of security is his exclusive responsibility.

“The PDP, working in concert with other patriotic Nigerians will not rest until President Buhari finds and returns each of these students.

“The PDP urges Nigerians to remain alert and prayerful as the nation wades through this nightmare under an insensitive, inept and uncoordinated administration.”

On its own part, The chairman of the North - West zone of the group, Jamiu Aliyu who addressed a press conference in Katsina said, “We condemn in totality this barbaric act and call for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the culprits, we equally stress the inability of the government to protect those young, innocent, vibrant students from this horrible attack as uncalled for.

“Failure of the government to rescue the missing students within the shortest period of time, CNG will not hesitate to mobilize hundreds of thousands on the streets of Katsina state for a continuous protest, until the students are fully rescued, even if it’s going to cost our lives.”
