Just In: Traditional Ruler kiIIed, as over 50 bandits storm Katsina community

The security situation in Katsina state is becoming dire as latest at*ack by over 50 bandits on Saturday morning, reportedly left several people de*d including one traditional ruler according to Sahara Reporters.

The at*ack which is said to have taken place at Mazoji Village under Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State, came barely three weeks after the mu*der of the district head of Yantumaki in Danmusa Local Government, Alhaji Maidabino, by bandits.

According to the report per SR, a source disclosed that the bandits carried out the at*ack on Mazoji Village around 2am and operated for several hours before kiIIing the traditional leader.

The bandits also reportedly set ablaze five motorcycles during the at*ack, while they rustled unspecified number of cows.

The source lamented that security operatives were yet to arrive the village even as at 7:30am.

National Pivot had recently reported that the incessant attacks by bandits and failure of the Buhari administration to address the issue, has left residents with no choice but to express their displeasure by vandalizing Buhari's statues and billboards across the State.

Buhari in his Democracy Day speech said he remains commitment to addressing the "nation’s daunting challenges, especially insecurity, economy and corruption".

He said, "This day provides us an opportunity to reflect on our journey as a nation, our achievements and struggles.

"It is a day to honour our founding fathers who toiled to establish our republic and every Nigerian who has worked tirelessly to sustain it.

"Sustaining our democracy thus far has been a collective struggle, and I congratulate all Nigerians and particularly leaders of our democratic institutions on their resilience and determination to ensure that Nigeria remains a shining example of democracy.

"In my 2019 Democracy Day address, I promised to frontally address the nation’s daunting challenges, especially insecurity, economy and corruption. I therefore find it necessary to give an account of my stewardship on this day."
