Insecurity: Service chiefs will go if you impeach Buhari — Nigerians tells NASS

House of Representatives
Nigerians on social media have called on the National Assembly to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari as a viable option to getting rid of the Service Chiefs who have failed to improve the security situation in the country.

According to them, if the president is impeached there must be a change in the nation’s security system.

They stated this while reacting to lamentations by the members of the House of Representatives who were insisting that heads of the armed forces should resign or be sacked over att*ck on Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State.

Members of the House of Representatives had reacted to the recent att*ck on the convoy of Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, insisting that heads of the armed forces should resign or be sacked.

Those who made the call include the minority caucus and members from Southern Kaduna, where armed herdsmen and militias are wreaking havoc.

The minority caucus said it was alarmed by the attack on Zulum, saying the sad event had again reinforced the urgent need to review the country’s security architecture.

The statement read: “The worsening security situation in the country under the current service chiefs has reached an unbearable state, to the extent that insurgents have the temerity to att*ck an armed convoy of a state governor.

“We, the opposition lawmakers, hereby, in the strongest terms restate the call to President Muhammadu Buhari to honour the resolution of the National Assembly and immediately remove the service chiefs and bring in new hands to effectively confront the security challenges confronting our nation.”

However, the statement did not go down well with Nigerians. Below are some of the reactions that National Pivot gathered:

These guys have only one mandate which is to impeach the government. The constitution of Nigeria states that the primary responsibility of her government is to ensure the security of lives. This government has failed woefully on that ground and should be impeached.

Dr-John Obigba
The NAS is being hypocritical because the service Chiefs are not the problem. They are acting on directives from the commander in chief of the arm forces. The person that must be changed by the NAS is the commander in chief.
NAS please stop beating around the bush and stop deceiving Nigerians. When the minority leader gave you the solution what did you do? You fought him.

Despite the insecurity & wanton KiIIing Buhari proudly said he have done the best mean that he ordered to kiII many & they have successfully done it that is Buhari's body language for Nigerians.

The solution to Nigeria problem is not prayers!
Collective and agreeable separation is the best solution to Nigerians problem.
The country is too large to be kept in the hands of illiterates, greedy, senseless, myopic and educated illiterates as Rulers/Administrators.

Samuel Abimbola
It is a big slap, and they are telling us they have tried their best, your best is just a rehearsal. Get war aircrafts and wipe off the mess in Sambisa.

If you impeach Buhari the service chiefs will go with him. That's the only way out of this insecurity problem.

If the "Presidency" can't remove the service chiefs then remove the "President"...

This bunch of National Assembly members are toothless Bulldogs! If the president refused to do the needful then they should carry out their constitutional responsibility of impeachment to arrest crass incompetence
