As corrupt as PDP was, they won’t steal funds meant to fight Corona Virus, says Adeyanju

Human rights activist, and Convener of pro-democracy group, Comrade Deji Adeyanju, has lamented over the high level of corruption going on in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

The activist in a post on his official Facebook page on Saturday, described the APC government as the worst in the history of Nigeria compared to the previous government of the PDP.


Adeyanju's outburst was in reaction to misappropriation of funds meant to help fight the dreaded COVID-19 virus in the country under Buhari’s watch which was donated by the US, UK, EU, and Germany.

He said as corrupt as PDP government was, they would never steal funds meant to fight Corona Virus as it is been done in the APC government. He said during the Ebola virus outbreak the PDP government fought the virus without stealing funds.

His words "As corrupt as PDP was, they won’t steal funds meant to fight Corona Virus. They didn’t steal Ebola funds. All funds donated by US, UK, EU, Germany & others to fight COVID has disappeared. Even palliatives funds disappeared without a trace."




Recall that the European Union (EU) had announced a sum of €50 million (N21 billion) contribution towards the implementation of a coordinated response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

Also the United States Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Department of State, announced the donation of $21.4 million to Nigeria as support for the fight against the Covid-19 virus.



However, Nigerians has been asking questions on how the donated funds were used by the Buhari’s government.
