The Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Information and Orientation, Mr. Freston Akpor, told journalists on Monday that in a quick response, the operatives stationed at the entry point ordered that the almajirai be returned in the same buses conveying them.
He disclosed that the almajirai were from various states in the North.
Mr. Akpor said, “While some of the almajirai claimed they were on their way to the state on commercial fishing expedition, others claimed to be on their way to Port Harcourt, the Rivers State, capital.
“The task force on COVID-19 team had to escort the 17 boys, including their drivers, to the Bayelsa State border in Patani between Bayelsa and Delta states.”
