A Pure look at X-Men: Dark Phoenix ahead of its release in June

Jean Grey imbued with the Phoenix Force/20th Century Fox
The X-Men movie franchise has around since the year 2000 and boasts a strong fan base who had several depictions of the film thrown at them unlike the MCU where every bit and pieces are well crafted with continuity in mind.

In 2017, we had Logan which happens to be some sort of farewell to one of the most iconic characters in the X-Men franchise — much like what the MCU did to fan favorite MCU character, Tony Stark aka Ironman.

But like what we've seen before, another shot at the X-Men franchise is almost upon us. This time the focus seem to have shifted to yet another fan favorite, Jean Grey who if you can recalled, was killed by Wolverine in The Last Stand.

20th Century Fox which until its recent aquisition by Disney, has been in charge of the long running X-Men franchises, seem to closing it out with the upcoming Dark Phoenix film which hits theaters in a couple of weeks. This latest entry is a conclusion that is set to be an explosive one with young Jean Grey having been imbued by with the Phoenix Force, a powerful, mysterious entity that makes Jean both the most powerful creature on the planet as well as potentially the most dangerous one -- even if she's not initially aware of just how powerful or dangerous she can be.

In Dark Phoenix, "The X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe when one of their own, Jean Grey, starts to spiral out of control. During a rescue mission in outer space, Jean is nearly killed when she's hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. The X-Men must now band together to save her soul and battle aliens that want to use Grey's new abilities to rule the galaxy."

Comic book reports that the film will serve as something of an adaptation of the iconic Marvel Comics storyline. 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand attempted the storyline but was met with negative response. This time, Dark Phoenix represents the storyline "done right," as Turner told Rolling Stone. “Every other scene in Dark Phoenix is, like, the most intense scene I’ve ever done,” Turner said.

Dark Phoenix hits theaters on June 7.
