Bola Tinubu was recently inaugurated as Buhari's successor. |
Deputy spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council in the previous election, Hannatu Musawa, has expressed optimism that President Bola Tinubu's administration will address the alleged corruption within the oil marketing sector.
During her appearance on Arise Television on Wednesday, Musawa conveyed her confidence in the president's ability to take decisive action.
She stated, "President Bola Tinubu's administration can be relied upon to firmly confront those responsible for burdening Nigerians through the increased price of PMS."
Musawa further emphasized that Tinubu is a president who is willing to make difficult decisions for the betterment of the country.
After winning the election with just 37 percent of the votes, the lowest for any elected Nigerian president since the transition from military to democratic rule in 1999, Tinubu was inaugurated as Nigeria's 16th president on Monday. He now faces significant challenges, including revitalizing the economy, combating insecurity, and fostering national unity.
There is also the possibility that Tinubu could become the first president since 1999 to serve for only a few months and potentially face removal by the court if Peter Obi of the Labour Party succeeds in his petition challenging Tinubu's victory in the presidential election held on February 25th.
