JUST IN: Soldiers On Patrol Duty On Lagos Island as thugs begin attacking traders

Nigeria soldiers on patrol

A detachment of soldiers took positions and secured the streets on Lagos Island, Lagos State, on Monday, following unrest in the market.

According to reports, some thugs attacked the market to vandalise shops and rob people leaving some injured.

However, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, debunked the report, saying that nobody was robbed, neither were shops vandalised.

Stating that the attack was not from political thugs, Hundeyin noted that the police had intervened in the unrest. Punch Report
