2023: Leaders within the APC admit Tinubu may lose the coming election, says even his own party has rejected him

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has made a shocking admission that its presidential candidate for the coming presidential election in the country, Bola Tinubu, may lose the election as more forces within the party are working hard to sabotage his chances.

With only a few weeks away to the election on February 25th, the party claimed that schemers that failed to produce the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele, or former President Goodluck Jonathan or Senate President Ahmed Lawan as the consensus candidate of APC are behind the plot against Tinubu.

APC zonal Vice chairman, (North-West), Salihu Moh. Lukman, who raised the concerns, however, claimed that as he defeated them to become the presidential candidate of the party despite their machinations, he hopes a similar feat could be replicated at the election.

The statement he signed read: “Of course, there are forces within the APC that are also not comfortable with the possibility that Tinubu will be the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Schemers that failed to produce neither Emefiele nor former President Jonathan or Ahmed Lawan as the consensus candidate of APC have unleashed Emefiele’s so-called cashless policy to damage the APC and the candidature of Tinubu.

“But as they failed in the case of the consensus presidential candidate, they are also failing in their intrigues to damage the APC and the candidature of Tinubu. As Tinubu emerged as the presidential candidate of APC despite their machinations, Tinubu will also become elected as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, God willing,” he noted in the statement.

The party also said Nigerians are known for voting against parties that frustrates their lives. Hinting that the current situation in the country, has put Tinubu's hope of becoming the next president in jeopardy. It said Nigerians are most likely going to vote in another round of "power-greedy political leaders" into power instead of Tinubu out of frustration.

“Sadly, Nigerians, in their frustrations tend to want to submit themselves to power-greedy political leaders whose main value is only limited to contesting elections with hardly any commitment to the party that present them as candidates.

“This is responsible for why most of these politically greedy politicians contest different political parties every election. In fact, they are serial aspirants and contestants for elective positions," the statement read.
