2023: Atiku in trouble after Sowore claims he has document

Things are expectedly getting messier as we get ever more closer to next year's presidential election where at least, top political heavyweights from the APC, PDP, LP, and NNPP will battle it out to succeed Buhari as the next president.

While the other parties are at best, regarded as nothing more than 'mushroom' parties in Tinubu's own words, the one candidate who keeps making news headline against all odds, is non other than African Action Alliance's Omoyele Sowore.

The AAC's candidate has been up in arms against Labour Party's Peter Obi following his surge in popularity among Nigerians, particularly the youths. While he's by no means, done with Obi quite yet, this time however, Sowore made sure the Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar may have trouble sleeping well.

Atiku had criticized Sowore of speaking on issues he knows nothing about, saying the AAC's candidate knew nothing about the policy implementation or policy initiative of the Obasanjo government on the power sector.

This was in response to Sowore's accusation that Atiku was vice president when $16 billion was spent on power yet nothing substantial came out of it.

"He (Sowore) has all along lived outside this country, he doesn't even know the policy implementation or policy initiative," Atiku said, adding that the Obasanjo government did in fact, increased power generation from 4000 to 13000 megawatts after it initiated the building of 9 additional power stations which was completed by former president Goodluck Jonathan.

"So he (Sowore) doesn't even know because he lives outside this country. He comes every four years and contests for the president and goes back. What does Sowore know about this country? Nothing, absolutely nothing," he said.

In his own response to Atiku, Sowore who was obviously out to raise dust, began his response by revealing how Atiku at the time, used his services in a bid to one up his former boss.

"I think he (Atiku) is losing memories," Sowore said in a response during an interview with AriseTV.

"Otherwise, he (Atiku) would have known that I have never at any point in my life left issues concerning Nigeria. In fact, for him and others, I was the source of news while they were in office. Happenings in the government. When Garba Shehu used to work with him as SA, he used to send me documents so as to counter Obasanjo in those days when they were at each other's necks."

Sowore's response is more of creating more problems for Atiku than countering his accusations. It is unclear though, if Sowore will make public the documents he said was given to him by Atiku back in the days, a situation which could have huge implications on Atiku's chances of winning next year's presidential election.
