YOU LIED: Jonathan left billions in reserves behind, your boss will leave trillions in debts behind — Omokri replies Amaechi

Former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, came hard on Buhari's Minister for Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who in a recent Channels Television’s programme, ‘Hard Copy’, claimed the money Jonathan left behind for Buhari was so small that it could not even sustain Nigeria for three weeks.

Amaechi on the program, accused the Jonathan government of exposing the country to danger by not keeping to traditions of leaving behind substantial amounts of money capable of sustaining the next government for at least, 6 months in case the country faces threats of war.

“When you talk about bandits and all these people that kill. It is a question about poverty. And that poverty didn’t start in this regime. Don’t forget that oil was sold at $110, $114, $115 per barrel. When this government came into power, oil fell to $28 per barrel and since then it has not gone above $80 per barrel.”

“As former Chairman of the Governors’ Forum (Amaechi was a two-time governor of Rivers), I was told by the security in a meeting chaired by the former President including the former minister of finance that at every point in time, the government must leave money behind in case Nigeria goes to war that would last for six months.

“By the time we came, they didn’t leave money behind that could last us for three weeks. And I was speaking at that time as the Chairman of the Governors’ Forum," the former Rivers state governor said.

But responding to Amaechi's claims, Omokri who described Amaechi as a 'useless liar', said he is suffering from slave mentality, hoping lying to please his slave masters would earn him a vice presidential ticket in the 2023 election.

”This is exactly what Jonathan left behind on May 29, 2015, that Amaechi said could not sustain Nigeria for three weeks: Foreign reserve of $28.6 billion, $2.2 billion in the Excess Crude Account, $5.6 billion Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas Limited dividends, and over $1 billion investments via the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority,” Omokri wrote in an Instagram post.

“Rotimi Amaechi is just a useless liar, who thinks he can get APC’s vice presidential slot by attacking former President Jonathan. 2023 is near. The whole of Nigeria will soon see what Buhari will leave behind, apart from N40 trillion debt,” he added.

He said Amaechi begun life as Peter Odili’s aide, saying inferiority complex had refused to leave him.

“Sadly, he has a perpetual problem with self worth and Nigerians are cautioned not to take him seriousl,” Omokri added.

He explained that the matter of Amaechi being desperate for the vice-presidential ticket of the APC was based on the thinking that the APC would once more zone its presidential ticket to the north.
