The Federal Government has just announced that the self-acclaimed leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has been arrested by joint security agencies.
He was said to be arrested on Sunday June 27, 2021.
Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who made the disclosure in a joint press briefing with heads of the department of security services and the police, said Nnamdi would be taking to court to continue with his trial.
Malami did not state where the IPOB leader, who is being prosecuted on charges bordering on terrorism before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja was arrested.
Kanu is presently being awaited to be brought to Justice Binta’s court at the time of filing this report.
