The President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Wale Oke, has said he has for the first time, found himself praying for Buhari to be removed as President of the country for failing to end or at the least, curb insecurity in the country.
OKe who stated this during a vigil organised by his church, The Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Ibadan, said the position of the President is not more valuable than the life of a single Nigerian. He therefore, said if removing the President would save lives and restore peace, then it should be done.
He said, “The President should be removed if that would pave the way for the desired peace in the country.
“In the 1960s when Nigeria fought a civil war, the eastern part of the nation was the theatre of war.
“Sadly today, everywhere in Nigeria is a theater of war with much killings and bloodshed going on in the country every day.
“Some wicked people kidnapped some students and demanded N800m for their release; they killed them. The government did not lift a finger and you are telling me that the President has not failed. Buhari has failed.
“For the first time, I have found myself praying that God should remove Buhari.
“They kidnapped students without the government doing anything and you are telling me that the government has not failed. Are you saying we cannot move against an incompetent government whose security apparatus has collapsed?” Oke asked.
Oke previously accused Buhari of supporting terrorism by choosing to stand by his minister of communication, Isa Pantami, against the majority of Nigerians who want him removed.
According to Oke, the controversy currently generated by the Pantami saga was needless as he (Pantami) ought to have resigned or be sacked on account of his past complimentary stance on Boko Haram and the insurgents.
“That Pantami is still in Buhari’s government, tells much about who we are and the mockery that trails us. What is the man still doing in government; why has he not resigned or why has he not been sacked by the government? More questions than answers or are we running a government of abracadabra, the more you look, the less you see?”
He lamented that the Buhari’s government supposed fight against insurgency, banditry and the ilk, was after all, a façade.
“To us at the PFN, the Buhari’s government is not sincere in its alleged war against Boko Haram, killer herdsmen and other criminalities. Do we have to look beyond our shoulders for the sponsors of the mindless killings and bloodshed currently ravaging our country? The answer is no! The government knows them,” he said.
