Nigerian Air Force, NAF says an Alpha-Jet has lost contact with radar in Borno State, while on interdiction mission in support of ground troops
A statement by NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore, Edward Gabkwet says the mission was part of ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the North East. The loss of radar contact occurred on Wednesday at about 5:08pm.
Details of the whereabout of the aircraft including number of persons on board are still sketchy but search and rescue efforts are ongoing.
