Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th senate, revealed that he had to make u-turn while on his way to his farm, after sensing that the direction he was heading, was unsafe.
The Senator who has been a vocal critic of the Buhari administration and Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna State over insecurity in the country, said while on his way, he noticed people running in the opposite direction and had to do the same out of caution since kidnapping and bandit attacks has become a daily routine in Buhari's Nigeria.
Sharing his experience on Twitter, Sani wrote, "I was driving to my Farm this morning in Kaduna, when I saw people making U turn in speed, I asked why; nobody even looked at me,only one woman said “stay there dey ask”; Like a formula One Driver, I just joined them in speed."

Sani is well aware of the risk of using roads in Kaduna State, and previously suggested that Nigerians would gladly prefer traveling by train despite its own issues, than risk being kidnapped on the road.
He said, "When the Kaduna Abuja train delays, you will see people angry and shouting to the top of their voices, yet no one will just get angry, disembark from the train and hit the road."
He also once questioned Buhari's directive, requesting Nigerians to return to the farm, saying, "They closed the border and want people to go back to the farm; There’s no problem with going to the farm, the problem is coming back from the farm."

The Kaduna Senator is also an advocate of self-defense. He said Nigerians have the right to defend themselves when their leaders have clearly failed in their responsibility to protect them.
He warned against those opposing self defense, saying it only gives the impression that government is responsible for the people's woes.
He said, "Bandits have ravaged and pillaged most parts of the rural north west. They move on motorcycles, raze villages, kill and rape with impunity. It takes some days to find some of the corpses of their victims. If you can’t protect your land don’t interrupt those who decides to."
He also accused government of insensitivity to the plight of the poor, saying they care more for their friends, than for the poor who voted them to power.
He said, “Gunmen have become the government. FuneraIs services have become a daily routine. We are becoming a nation of endless mourning and ceaseless bereavement.
“Where women and children are kiIIed and buried every day, the evil that will hunt and torment the nation has been planted. Nigerian political elites shed more tears when their friends dies and no tears when their poor people die.
“The Nigerian poor respectfully mourn the death of the rich or the powerful, the Nigerian rich or the powerful have no tears for the death of the poor.
“Where the people cannot be protected from systemic kiIIings and are not allowed to defend themselves, the government carries the sum of the moral burden of guilt and complicity.
“The national flag is splashed with bIood each time an innocent man or woman is kiIIed."
