We never knew that the Buhari administration and Boko Haram are partners — PDP

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Caucus in the House of Representatives has said the only explanation to the escalating security challenges in the country and the boldness with which Boko Haram operates in the North, is because the Buhari administration and the terror group are partners.

This massive claim by the PDP, was disclosed at a press conference on Thursday over the state of insecurity and alleged failure of the president to address the situation despite calls by the National Assembly and Nigerians.

Addressing the press conference, the Caucus leader, Rep. Kingsley Chinda (PDP,Rivers) said the APC administrations has failed in the management of socio-economic well-being of Nigerians since coming to power.

“Like their management of the economy, security has equally been atrociously managed by this administration as families continue to lose gallant ones on the field of battle while other families daily lose members to bandits, highway robbers and kidnappers.

“Rather than giving Nigerians hope, the Chief of Army Staff on the 4th of December, publicly pronounced that insecurity will continue in the country for another 20 years.

“It is an open secret that this administration rode into power on plethora of lies; it’s technically defeated partners are now even more brazen than ever, abducting about 333 innocent school boys in President Muhammadu Buhari’s home State of Katsina on Friday 11 December 2020 and traumatised for 6 days in the custody of their captors,” the Caucus stated.

The PDP, has in a recent statement following the abduction of over 600 students in Kankara, Katsina State, said it is perplexed that the attack took place only a few days after Buhari arrived his home town for a week long holiday.

It however, said the president should prove his love for his people by cutting short his holiday and enduring the students are rescued.

The party said, “Our party holds as perplexing that at a time the people of Katsina should have heaved a sigh of relief because of his presence, the abduction happened right under Mr. President’s nose; in his home state, where he had gone holidaying."

“The PDP, standing with the entire Katsina people, charges President Muhammadu Buhari, as the commander -in - chief, who promised to lead from the front, to account for the ab'ducted students, as the large - scale ab'duction happened a few hours after the President and his security machinery took over the state."

The statement further read, “The PDP demands that President Buhari should immediately quit his needless holidaying in Daura and go in search of, and rescue the ab'ducted students, particularly having earlier admitted that issue of security is his exclusive responsibility.

“The PDP, working in concert with other patriotic Nigerians will not rest until President Buhari finds and returns each of these students.

“The PDP urges Nigerians to remain alert and prayerful as the nation wades through this nightmare under an insensitive, inept and uncoordinated administration.”
