IGBO is not a dirty word and there's nothing wrong with Igbo presidency — Fani-Kayode tells Galadima

Former Minister of Aviation and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has disagreed with Buba Galadima for saying he will not support Igbo presidency in 2023.

Galadima had said he will not support Igbo presidency in 2023.

He said this on Monday during The Morning Show on Arise Television while speaking on restructuring from the EndSAR protest.

He said “I have a lot of friends from South East, I can vote for any of them if they present themselves but I am not agreeing to “Igbo presidency”

But reacting on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, Fani-Kayode said the word IGBO is not a dirty word, adding that there is nothing wrong with Igbo presidency.

He said, "We will support candidate from South East, but not Igbo presidency"- Buba Galadima.

"Who are the "we" and what exactly does this mean?

"When a Fulani was supported for the Presidency did we say we will support a North Westerner and not a Fulani? Why the double standard?

"We must call a spade a spade. The people of the South East are Igbos, the word IGBO is not a dirty one and there is NOTHING wrong with an Igbo Presidency.
