#EndSARS: Nigerians must stop embracing oppressors — Kayode

A former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani Kayode has said it is time for Nigerians to learn how citizens of other nations are fighting for their rights by doing all it takes to break away from their oppressors.

He lamented that the situation in Nigeria is dire considering how leaders in the country treat the masses as people of no value. He questioned how long the people would continue to endure leaders who obviously do not value the lives of its people.

Speaking in a Facebook post, he said, "Must we remain in a country where the blood of our children is spilt with impunity and without consequence? Only caged and cowardly animals in a zoo think and behave like that. Everywhere else in the world people resist and break away from their oppressors but in Nigeria we embrace them."

The former minister has previously expressed shock over the Lekki incident saying he couldn't sleep as he struggled to get his head around it.

He said, "How can you justify or explain the barbarity that took place at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos yesterday (Tuesday) evening?

"I have thought about it long and hard and I have not been able to sleep all night because I just can't get my head around it!

"The soldiers turned off the street lights and plunged the whole place into darkness.

"They surrounded the children and barricaded them in from both sides so they had nowhere to run.

"They removed all the CCTV cameras in the area and jammed alll the cell phone lines.

"Then, as the kids sat on the floor singing the national anthem and offering NO resistance, they opened fire on them and butchered them.

"It was like shooting at helpless rabbits in a cage.

"After they finished unleashing the mayhem and carnage they refused to let ambulances or helicopters to come in to take away the wounded and the dead.

"They also made efforts to take away many bodies in order for them not to be counted amongst the dead or identified.

"These were innocent, harmless children who were simply asking that police brutality should stop and that they should be granted their lawful right to protest. In return they got live bullets and death whilst many more were maimed and wounded.

"This was nothing but cold-blooded, premeditated murder and I question the sanity of Brigadier General Omata who was the commanding officer that led the beasts that claim to be soldiers of the Nigerian Army on this murderous mission.

"If this does not qualify as a crime against humanity then nothing ever will.

"Omata, Buhari, Burutai, Sanwolu, Tinubu and Osinbajo together with every single soldier that was involved inn this massacre have blood on their hands ahd WILL be handed over to the International Court of Criminsl Justice (ICC) at the Hague at the appropriate time.

"They will NOT remain in power forever and they will be brought to justice far sooner than they think."
