They came and met us, and now wants to take away what belongs to us — Kayode

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and social commentator, Femi Fani-Kayode, has warned that there may not be a country called Nigeria by 2023 as long as one part of the country continues to play superiority over the others.

The former Minister of Aviation made the statement while reacting to a warning issued to the South West by Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, that the North may not handover power to them in 2023 if the alleged humiliation of Northerners continues in Yoruba land.

The Northern group had expressed its displeasure over what it described as the humiliation of northerners in Southern part of the country.

But reacting in a tweet on his verified twitter handle, Fani-Kayode wondered why the Arewa youths would take the place of God.

He tweeted, “Don’t expect us to hand over to you in 2023′ – Arewa Youths to SW.

“Who are you? Are you God? Do you own the power? Were you born to rule? Are southerners your slaves?

“You came from Futa Jalon in 1804 and met us here. Stop your f*ckery or there may not be a Nigeria left in 2023!”

Meanwhile, not all has been well with the former Aviation Minister following a recent spat with a Daily Trust journalist.

Kayode has in a viral video, during his recently tour of some South-South and South-East states, described the journalist as ‘very stupid’ for asking a nauseating question.

The journalist had during a press conference in Calabar, Cross Rivers State, asked him if he was being bankrolled by any politician or political group – a question that attracted verbal assault from the ex-minister.

“I’m saying this live on TV, put that thing down, what kind of stupid question is that? Bankrolling who? Do you know who you are talking to? I will not take any further questions from this man. Who you do think you are talking to? Go and report yourself to your publisher. I don’t want to take questions from this man, very stupid.

“I could see from your face before you got here how stupid you are. Don’t ever talk to me like that. I’m not a poor man and will never be, bankroll who? A former minister, a lawyer, don’t ever try that with me again, see me well, don’t ever. You are very rude, it’s not the standard of Daily Trust at all and I will report you to your publisher,” Kayode said in response to the journalist.

Although Kayode has since issued out an apology, Daily Trust has been trolling him via a plethora of publications thereby forcing Kayode into taking legal action against the media outfit.

On the bright side though, Kayode who isn't known to be a big fan of the North, surprised many when his conferment with the chieftaincy title 'Sadaukin Shinkafi', by the Emir Of Shinkafi, Alhaji Muhammad Makwash, became public.
