Buhari was an avoidable disaster in 2015 — Kayode

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani Kayode has reacted to hike in prices of fuel and electricity in the country by the Buhari administration, saying Buhari was an avoidable disaster, but that those who brought Buhari in, are simply reaping what they sowed in 2015.

He said the handwriting has been on the wall, and warning bells sounded all through the build up to the 2015 elections, but were ignored.

In a post he shared on his Facebook page, Kayode drew comparisons, highlighting changes in the price of fuel, funds in the Excess Crude Account (ECA), value of the Naira, Price of a bag of rice, and the country's external debt between 2015 and 2020.

He said, "In the 2015 presidential campaign I warned Nigerians that this would happen if Buhari was elected.

"I shouted it on the rooftops morning day and night but the people refused to listen.

"Instead they insulted me and rejected Jonathan. Let them continue with their insults and enjoy their plight.

"This is a sad testimony and horrendous plight for our country but worse of all is the fact that there is far more to come.

"Those of you who supported Buhari in 2015 should clap for yourselves and shout 'Sai baba'."

The Buhari administration had said the era of paying fuel subsidy needed to end as it is no longer sustainable.

The Petroleum Pipeline and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporations (NNPC), had on Wednesday announced a new ex-depot price of N151.56k for petrol.

However, some filling stations owned by Independent marketers dispensed the product at between N162 and N164 per litre, depending on their location.
