Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, said Nigerians are only good at complaining when things aren't going well, but are likewise, guilty for not doing enough to help solve the problems they're crying about.
Buratai who made the statement yesterday Monday 20th, while addressing journalists after briefing President Muhammadu Buhari on the activities of the army in the north-west region, said citizens were not helping matters by only complaining about insecurity and accusing security agencies of not doing enough.
“As to whether banditry, terrorism and so on will end, I think it all depends. If Nigerians want it to end today, I can assure you it will end today if everybody joins hands, because these bandits are not outside Nigeria; they are not from foreign land,” he said.
Buratai’s comments came as 192 people were kiIIed in different parts of the country within the last three months, including dozens of security personnel.
Last month, the President warned heads of the security agencies against any further escalation of the security situation in the country, telling them that their “best is not good enough”.
