You condemned racism in US while you hates yourselves — Omokri blast Nigerians

Mr Reno Omokri
A former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on social media, Mr Reno Omokri, has berated Nigerians for condemning alleged racism that is going on in the United States of America against the blacks while turning a blind eye to tribalism that is also going on in the country.

In a tweet on his verified twitter handle on Tuesday, Omokri described Nigerians outbursts over the kiIIing of George Floyd as mere hypocrisy.

In the tweet Omokri wrote, "You rightly condemn racism in America, but what about tribalism? Africans dont like each other. Take Nigeria. When you call Northerners ‘aboki’ or complain of ‘Igbo man sense’ or falsely generalise all Yorubas as ‘betrayers’, what are you doing?"

Demonstrations broke out across cities in the U.S. last week over the death of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, in police custody.

Private autopsy says Mr Floyd died of suffocation after a white policeman pinned him to the ground for almost nine minutes.

Since his death a week ago, protesters have run amok in some states, setting police vehicles and offices on fire, forcing their mayors to declare curfews. This is even as
thousands of National Guard personnel are being deployed to states.

Some Nigerians have also joined the protest against the kiIIing of the black American by the white policeman.
