Nigeria leaders too dirty for God to accept — Quadri

While it is a remarkable feat, at least, Nigerians had expected better. Speaking of research breakthrough in the optimization of Kilishi production in Nigeria, as presented by the Director-General of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, RMRDC, Professor Hussain Ibrahim, at the Nigerian Senate last Monday.

Professor Ibrahim who was asked to brief the Senate committee on science and technology, chaired by Senator Uche Ekwunife, on the agency's breakthroughs in the research and development of raw materials for local industries, listed kilishi production as a research success the country has recorded in 33 years.

In response to the committee, Professor Ibrahim said , “We have developed two varieties of Sorghum. We collaborated with agricultural research institutes, pharmaceutical industries because we produce ethanol from it and that is the basic raw material for the production of sanitizers.

“Also from the same Sorghum, we developed other products like Glucose syrup, livestock feeds, material for breweries, and starch.”

When asked if Nigeria is ready to stay independent from products like sorghum, Professor Ibrahim said: “We have not reached that stage. It goes through processes. We have tested it now but the stage we are now in the pilot stage.

“That pilot stage will now lead to the optimisation of the products. At that pilot stage, we would now see if what we have finally done is technically feasible or commercially viable. We have to determine that.

“After we had determined that, we will now ask relevant industries to take them for mass production. In our 30 years of research activities, we are still the largest research Institute. But to be candid with you, we are making progress.

“For now, we have developed technology to optimise Kilishi production. Research activities take time.”

The inclusion of Kilishi was unsurprisingly not well received not only by the committee, but by Nigerians.

A cartoon shared by PUNCH on the subject, has triggered reactions including a bizarre prayer offering Nigeria leaders as a burnt offering to God, for failing the masses who for years, have remained hopeful.

Facebook user, James Samson, in his reaction, made the below prayer;

"Lord almighty, I thank you for this day. I thank you for the gift of life, health, and our daily bread. Lord I thank you for our family and friends. And I also thank you for saving us from all evil - spiritual and physical. Lord, I offer Nigerian leaders to you as burnt offering to cleanse our nation and our world from this invisible enemy that has deprived us of our day to day activities. Since they have refused to be useful to us, Lord, take them. If there is any of them that you can't take, please throw him or her to sango or amadioha, or let oke ukwu devour the person. Lord, take these people and give us new nation where every citizen will enjoy all the privileges that come with being citizens of a nation. Lord answer my prayer."

Another user, Mobolaji Emmanuel Quadri, who responded to his prayer, said, "You should offer God a clean offering... What you can also appreciate... God will vex with this your offerings na...
Don't be like Cain."

Ope Kehinde in response to the cartoon said, "This northern are drawing us backwards from development.... what is killishi....we need to go our separate ways."

Same sentiment was shared by Bamigboye Olusola who said, "Sincerely, the north is taking the rest of the nation as fools... Common, I think it'll be better we divide this country right now, for except a revival breaks out in the north, Nigeria is gone."
