INSECURITY: I have been foolish for supporting Buhari, says Mohammed

Following the high level of insecurity in the Northern region of the country, a staunch supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Mohammed, said he has been foolish all along for being "a diehard supporter" of the president for years.

Abba said he has never seen Buhari face to face but only on TV and he has been voting for him whenever he contest for Presidency. But now he realised that he was foolish for supporting someone who could not addressed issues of insecurity under his watch which was the main reason they gave him their votes.


Abba's outburst was in reaction to a statement made by the leader of Coalition Against KiIIings in Northern Nigeria, CAKIN, Murtala Abubakar, who said Northerners wasted their votes in electing President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, saying they thought his administration could defeat Boko Haram and banditry.

Reacting Abba said, "I have been a diehard supporter of Muhammad Buhari ever since he started contesting election. I have never seen him face to face. I only see him on TV and his posters, not to talk of shaking hands with him. I have never tried to see him and i am not worried.

"I have always been voting for him and defending my vote until counted and recorded, not because i want anything from him. I do what i did because i see him as an honest person who can lead us to where we want to be.




"But now, i am beginning to agree with you that i have been foolish all along. Five years into his administration, the problems of boko haram have subsided and also resurfaced. The insecurity related to bandits, kidnappers, cultists, rapists, communal clashes, etc have escalated.

"Unless he wakes up to do something urgently towards controlling the devastating insecurity in the country, my frustrations and regrets will continue raising my BP.
