Melaye, a former lawmaker had in his Twitter handle on Tuesday, maintained that politicians, including himself, had dealt the country a bad blow, stressing that political leaders should offer an unreserved apology to the masses for failure in governance.

Melaye, who has been in and around Nigeria’s political circles, served as member of the House of Representatives, a senator and a governorship aspirant since his nation’s return to democratic governance in 1999, maintained that if vulnerable Nigerians had been taken care of during the lockdown, there would have been successes in the fight against the pandemic.
