We owe Nigerians an unreserved apology for failing them — Sen Melaye tells politicians

Dino Melaye has faulted political leaders for failing to take care of citizens during the COVID-19 lockdown, stressing that they neglected the vulnerable ones by not providing palliatives to them.

Melaye, a former lawmaker had in his Twitter handle on Tuesday, maintained that politicians, including himself, had dealt the country a bad blow, stressing that political leaders should offer an unreserved apology to the masses for failure in governance.

EVERYONE WHO HELD AND IS HOLDING ANY POLITICAL OFFICE IN NIGERIA WHETHER ELECTIVE OR APPOINTED INCLUDING ME HAVE FAIL.WE SOLD CRUDE OIL FOR 64 YEARS BUT WE COULDN'T FEED OUR CITIZENS FOR JUST 2 WEEKS OF LOCKDOWN!! WELL, THE GOD OF THE POOR WILL JUDGE US ALL. ITS TIME TO REBOOT..

Melaye, who has been in and around Nigeria’s political circles, served as member of the House of Representatives, a senator and a governorship aspirant since his nation’s return to democratic governance in 1999, maintained that if vulnerable Nigerians had been taken care of during the lockdown, there would have been successes in the fight against the pandemic.
