Stop revealing drugs administered on you — FG warns COVID-19 survivors

The federal government yesterday pleaded with COVID-19 survivors to stop giving details of the drugs used for their treatment to discourage self-medication.

The Chairman, Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Mr. Boss Mustapha, made the plea at a press briefing in Abuja, following recent video testimonies of some high profile survivors, talking about the drugs administered on them at the treatment centres.


Dokpesi, the founder of DAAR Communications, owners of African Independent Television (AIT) and RayPower FM, had said he was confused about the drugs administered on him for the treatment of the deadly virus after he was discharged earlier in the week.

Many other recovered patients, including the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, and a former presidential aide, Doyin Okupe, all made similar revelations.




Meanwhile, Shehu Sani, former senator who formerly represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the national assembly, in a tweet on Friday night, said he wondered why Nigeria seems to be succeeding in the use of these drugs to tackle the dreaded COVID-19 while other nations are failing.
