Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina |
Adesina had stated in a live broadcast with ‘Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire Programme’ that nobody had authority to order President Buhari around.
"People think because either you elected a president or you didn't elect him, you must lead your president by the nose. It doesn't happen.
"Because you elected a man then you begin to order him around. The president would do whatever is good for the country any given time," Mr Adesina said in a one minute forty-five seconds video currently among the top twenty trends in Nigeria.
In his reaction, Giwa, urged Adesina to caution himself from addressing Nigerians carelessly.
He said, “I watched the interview, and I can tell you that Mr. Adesina is not a good manager.
“As a sitting president of Nigeria, he is answerable to the people not to Adesina. Nigerians must be able to tell him what they want.
“There is a way you talk to people to show respect for their persons. Adesina has no respect for Nigerians."
Similar concerns on the whereabouts of the president was also raised after the passing away of the President's late Chief of Staff, Malam Abba Kyari on April 17th, 2020.
It was however, gathered that Buhari was asked to stay away for safety reasons especially considering the highly contagious nature of Coronavirus and the damage it can do to persons in his age bracket.
Considering the fact that Buhari himself has been struggling with his health since becoming president, it is believed that the advice given to him to stay away from Kyari’s burial was for his own safety.
