Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, has said that Nigerians should be happy that they have a leader like President Muhammadu Buhari who is respected globally.
Shehu who made the statement while featuring on a Channels TV programme, said that Buhari’s name alone can “fetch a lot of good things” for the country.
The Presidential aide also said the sticks the president receives from critics is due to ignorance of the sacrifices made by the president for the good of the country.
“They (investors) are looking at a serious man and are ready to do business with him.
“I think Nigerians should comfort themselves in the fact that they have a president who is respected around the globe and the name of whom can fetch a lot of good things for Nigerians,” he added.
Nigeria like other countries of the world, has been affected by the spread of covid-19, and is still struggling to get the contagious disease under control.

He also said, "The Federal Government shall deploy all the necessary human, material and technical resources to support the State in controlling and containing the pandemic and preventing the risk of further spread to neighboring States."
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump of the United States has engaged with President Buhari in a telephone conversation about the ongoing battle to contain the spread of covid-19 in Nigeria.
In his remarks, Trump assured that the U.S. stand in solidarity with Nigeria, and promised to send ventilators to support the country in its fight against the pandemic.
