Kano Deaths: Fear grip Nigerians as covid-19 cases rise

There is serious anxiety in Kano State following reports of secret burials of over 150 bodies across different cemeteries in the State within a period of 72 hours. With the cause of such massive deaths still unknown, there's fear the deaths might not be unconnected to the current covid-19 pandemic wrecking havoc across the world.

In Kano State, the number of confirmed covid-19 cases has risen to 73 all within a short period of time. The rate at which the numbers continue to increase has left residents worried that the disease may have deeply impacted the State than the currently reported cases by NCDC.

The Kano State government has announced it would investigate the death claims as widely reported, and possible cause of deaths. It however, downplayed the severity of the situation saying such massive deaths aren't unusual in a state with over 15 million people.

But downplaying the situation didn't stop the news from becoming a topic of interest and subject of discussions both on and off social media.

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has voiced his concern over the situation saying "we are playing with fire". He also the situation in Kano State might just confirmed previous predictions by Mrs Melinda Gates who said she saw dead bodies littered across the streets of Africa.

Mrs Gates had in a recent interview with CNN, on the novel coronavirus and its effects in the third world countries, said her heart is in Africa, and based on her experiences across developing countries especially Africa, 'its going to be horrible'.

“Part of the reasons you are seeing the case numbers still do not look very bad, is because they don’t have access to many tests.

“Look at what is happening in Ecuador, they are putting bodies out on the streets, you are going to see that in countries in Africa,” Mrs Gates noted.

According to Mrs Gates, her worst nightmare was when she “saw what China had to do to isolate enormous part of its population. My first thought was Africa. How in the world are they going to deal with this.”

“I have been in townships all over Africa and slums. When we talk in country physical distancing and hand-washing, if you live in slums who can’t physical distance, you have to go out and get your meals. You don’t have clean water to wash your hands,” she added.

Mrs Gates was attacked by Fani Kayode and others who feel both Gates and his wife are up to something and never wish Africa well.

Fani Kayode reacting to the Kano situation said, "Reports about the staggering number of strange deaths in Kano over the last three days are alarming. People are dying like flies and the cause has not been established though it seems to me to be obvious.

"If something is not done quickly by President Muhammadu Buhari and his Federal Government hundreds of thousands of people, particularly the elderly, will die of Covid 19 and related diseases in Kano and other parts of the north in the next few weeks and this will spread like wildfire to the Middle Belt and the south. Something drastic MUST be done to contain the plague.

"What makes it clear that the matter is not being handled well is the fact that In a country of 200 million people we have only tested between 10,000 to 20,000 for Covid 19 and we think we are making progress?

"The truth is that we are playing with fire! Worse of all is the fact that that is precisely what Bill and Melinda Gates and those that are in their little club of globalist cultists WANT so they can sell their vaccine which will kill even more people!

"Their agenda is DEPOPULATION! The onus is on us to ensure it does not happen. We MUST do more to protect our people from this evil virus."

Meanwhile, current reported covid-19 cases in the country stands at 782 confirmed cases, 197 discharge, and 25 deaths.
