Security sources disclosed that the group atta¢ked the convoy while traveling from Abuja to Maiduguri to attend the three-day prayer of Sheriff’s Iate father, Alhaji Galadima Modu, who passed on following a fire outbreak at his residence in Maiduguri on Thursday.
“Three policemen, a driver and one member of his family were unable to survive the atta¢k while several others were lnjured.
“The te*rorists also went away with the riffIes of the victims and some cars in the convoy,” one security source said.
According to Sahara, two of the policemen who died are Corporal Mustapha Inusa and Corporal Abubakar Idris.
DHQ had stated that the body language of Shekau after so much military offensive on the insurgents lately showed that he would soon “throw in the towel”.
The Coordinator of the Directorate of Defence Media Operations (DDMO), Major General John Enenche, disclosed this on Friday during an interview on Channels TV “Shekau’s recently released videos are subjected to forensic analysis.
"There are rumours that they are ready to surrender. If the insurgents truly want to surrender, there is a procedure to do that. If he (Shekau) surrenders through the procedure, we will accept it,” he said.
