Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode |
Anthony Enahoro, one of the posthumous beneficiaries who was jailed for treasonable felony by the Balewa government in September 1963 did not need the pardon.
The pardon was gazetted on 12 August 1966 after it was signed by Lt.Colonel Yakubu Gowon, the head of state on 2 August 1966.
Gowon signed the instrument of pardon as “Head of the Military Government, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Nigeria”.
In a post on his official Facebook page on Saturday, a former minister of aviation and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode, wonder if President Muhammadu Buhari has lost his memory or the man in Aso Rock is not the actual person Nigerians voted for as president.
He wrote, "President Muhammadu Buhari, you say you have given a "pardon" to Chief Anthony Enahoro forgetting that he was pardoned by General Yakubu Gowon in 1966 and appointed Minister of Information immediately thereafter.
"Forgive me but I am constrained to ask, what on earth is wrong with you? You no longer appear to be yourself. Have you lost your memory?
"Are you the real Buhari or are you someone else? Is there ANYONE in your Government that has ANY brains or knows ANY history?
"Mr. President, permit me to assure you that you will answer to God for the blood of Ambrose Alli and all the other great men and women that you sent to an untimely death when you were military Head of State.
"Their spirits and souls testify against you in the throne room of Heaven and their blood cries out to God for vengeance!
