Former President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed confidence in his former co-ordinating minister for the economy/finance minister, Dr.Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala's ability to deliver, following her appointment as a member of South Africa’s Presidential Economic Advisory Council.
Jonathan made the statement via an official Facebook post following reports of Ngozi's appointment.
"As a two-time minister in Nigeria you left indelible marks as an astute manager of the nation's economy and resources. I am delighted that you have continued to place your substantial wealth of experience as a development economist at the service of many nations and international organisations to aid global growth and progress.
"I have no doubt in my mind that you will excel in the new assignment."
Prior to her new appointment, Ngozi is serves as the Board Chair of GAVI and AR Capacity. She was also a former Managing Director Operations, World Bank.

South Africa’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa, is the chairman of the council which comprises local and international economic experts of which Okonjo-Iweala is a part of.
