Emir Sanusi has finally lost the battle against Governor Ganduje

The feud between the two behemoths of Kano State, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Emir Muhammad Sanusi II, has been escalating for some time now, and has probably reached its climax following the latter's dethronement by the Kano State government.

Sanusi's removal was announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, who said the removal was with immediate effect.

Sanusi was accused of disrespecting the office of the governor and other government agencies. His action was said to have violated the part 3 section A-E of Kano state law, hence the removal.

The SSG said the removal was in line with consultation with relevant stakeholders, adding that a new emir would be announced in due course. He also urged Kano people to remain calm and go about their normal businesses.
