Nigeria's first victim of the novel coronavirus has been announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
According to a tweet on Monday by the agency, it said the victim is a 67 year old male who returned home following medical treatment in the UK.
Sahara Reporters identified the victim as Mr. Suleiman Achimugu, a former Managing Director of Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, a subsidiary of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

The tweet by NCDC also put confirmed cases of the COVID-19 at 36, spread across 6 states of the Federation. These states include Lagos with 25 cases, FCT 6, Ogun 2, with Ekiti, Oyo and Edo States recording a single case each.
