Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has nicknamed Senator Dino Melaye, Shehu Sani as "twitter Senators" who are no longer in the senate.
Senator Shehu Sani and Senator Dino Melaye who are both active users of social media platforms particularly Facebook and Twitter, were once President Buhari’s right hand men until things fell apart.
The governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai had in a previous report by National Pivot, said he successfully reduced Senator Sani to a blogger and exiled Sulieman Hunkuyi, a former senator representing Kaduna north, to China.
But Keyamo in a mockery post on his verified twitter handle on Wednesday, even though he did not mention their names, said the ousting of the duo from the upper legislative chamber shows that 'the world of real politics in Africa is not yet played on social media'. Adding that 'real politics is different from social media'.
He tweeted, "Have you noticed that ALL Twitter Senators are finally out of the Upper Chambers? It tells us that the world of REAL politics in Africa is not yet played on social media. Social media has not had a SUBSTANTIAL impact on our politics. REAL politics is different from Social Media
