Sowore/DSS: Tinubu will never become president for misleading the Southwest in 2015 — Ojomo

He was well packaged and was supposed to be the messiah his supporters had hoped for, but almost five years down the line, it became dawn on them that truly, a leopard cannot change its spot.

President Muhammadu Buhari has already gotten what he wanted, and against all odds, has forced himself on Nigerians for a second term, and possibly beyond 2023. But that's not exactly why Nigerians are worried though, but the fact that we now have a Rehoboam of our own time.

The recent invasion of the Federal High Court in Abuja where activist, journalist, and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore was standing trial, by agents of the Nigerian Department of State Services (DSS), has been described as yet another slap in the face of the Nigerian judiciary by the Buhari administration.

The video of the court invasion has since gone viral, and clearly shows a man-handled Sowore being dragged away by the DSS barely 24 hours after his release by the same DSS.

The DSS has in a recent statement, refuted claims of invading the court, saying the drama that ensued in the court was a deliberate ploy by Sowore's supporters in order to tarnish the image of the security agency.

However, as reactions and condemnations continue to pour, some are pitting the blame on those who played a role or two in the emergence of Buhari as president in 2015. Ironically, Sowore himself, was one of the willing tools used by the APC to ensure the broom displaces the umbrella over four years ago.

While Nigerians still have issues with Sowore himself, his role in the past does not excuse the misconduct of the DSS who presumably acted under the directive of a higher authority.

One particular Twitter user, Dokum Ojomo, has channeled his anger at two prominent South West leaders, Tinubu and Akande whom he accused of recruiting a 'tyrant' and misleading the public to vote for.

He said, "Tinubu and Papa Akande are very selfish.

"They knew this man was a tyrant yet they recruited him & asked people to vote for him.

"Just because Tinubu wants to be president in 2023, he packaged buhari as a reformed democrat. Rubbish."

Ojomo ended his tweet with the words, "Tinubu will never never rule this country."

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Bar Association, has called for the immediate suspension of the Director-General of Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi, for undermining the authority of the nation's judiciary through its conduct in the rearresting of Sowore during court proceedings.
