Building a new Church auditorium at this time is a misplaced priority — Fani-Kayode tells Adeboye

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has kicked against the new plan by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), to build a new camp auditorium along Lagos-Ibadan Express way.

Recall that the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), had said it would build a three kilometre long auditorium.

The General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said this during the Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption Camp in Mowe, Ogun State.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Holy Ghost Service was one of the programmes lined up for the 61st Annual Convention of the church.

Adeboye said that the new auditorium, which would be built at the mission’s camp ground at km 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, would also be three kilometres wide.

The cleric said that the existing auditorium, which was built in year 2000, with a capacity to sit one million people at once, could no longer accommodate millions of people who attended service.

But reacting on his official twitter handle on Monday, Fani-Kayode described the new plan as a misplaced priority, saying that that's not what Nigerians need at the moment. He said removing President Muhammadu Buhari from power should have been the main priority and not building Church auditorium.

His words, "Sir, building a Church auditorium the size of Ibadan ought not to be your priority. Getting the tyrant out of power & breaking the evil yoke that you helped foist on Nigeria by supporting him in 2015 and 2019 ought to be your primary objective today. You owe Nigeria that much!
