The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Abia State, Donatus Nwankpa, has reacted to the 12 years jail sentence handed over to the former governor of the state, Orji Uzor Kalu by a federal high court in Lagos on Thursday.
Recall that Justice Mohammed Idris convicted Kalu on 39 counts of N7.2 billion fraud and money laundering preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Justice Mohammed sentenced Kalu to 12 years in prison for N7.65 billion fraud.
Reacting in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Nwankpa said that he was disappointed by the judgment.
He said, “The party will meet to take a position on the judgment but as an individual, I am very saddened by the judgment.
