Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has Congratulated Yahaya Bello, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, in Kogi state for his re-election as governor of the state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, had declared Yahaya Bello, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, winner of the Kogi state governorship election.
Yahaya Bello is the incumbent Governor of the state.
Bello polled 406,222 votes to defeat Musa Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 189,704, and Natasha Akpoti of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who got 9,482.
Reacting on his official twitter handle on Monday, Keyamo described Bello as his friend and brother, saying that his victory is well deserved.
He tweeted, "A hearty congratulation to my friend and brother. You worked so hard for this and truly deserve it. I know you’ll put the people of Kogi first, as always.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has urged aggrieved parties who are dissatisfied with the outcome of the Kogi governorship election to go to court for redress.
He stated this while congratulating Governor Yahaya Bello on his re-election in the November 16 gubernatorial poll.
He described the election and emergence of the Bello, who was the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate as “a race well run and a victory well won.”
In a statement by his spokesperson, Femi Adesina, Buhari commended APC supporters for remaining steadfast and resolute even in the face of isolated incidents of violence.
Buhari also condoled with families and loved ones of those who lost their lives as a result of regrettable acts of violence by thugs doing the bidding of their political sponsors.
