Nigerians have had to endure so much of the Buhari-led government’s blushes for the past years, but the recent uproar over the duo of Social Media and Hate Speech Bills currently being debated in the floor of the Senate, shows tolerance has limit.
While it's true that Nigerians are obsessed with the Federal Government’s push to get the aforementioned bills passed, there still lies other issues such as the alleged fraud committed by Air Peace Chairman and CEO, Allen Onyema, as well as Witches conference schedule to hold in Enugu State.
Speaking of the Witches conference which unsurprisingly became the subject of condemnation particularly by Christians, the Church sees the conference as a devilish act meant to drag the future of the Church into that which according the Chairman of PFN in the state, Bishop Godwin Madu, 'will not give God Glory'.
Senator Shehu Sani who seem drawn into the conversation on whether or not the conference should be allowed to hold, said there's a greater witch haunting Nigerians both day and night while we seem more concerned about a certain conference.
He said, "If you can deny witches meeting at Nsukka you must also ban those flaunting the brooms day and night."
The Buhari administration has been ruling the country with impunity while Nigerians do nothing but groan and wail. However, the Lion in the masses is only let loose when matters of religion involved.
Sani's advice has come extremely handy, but whether or not Nigerians could summon the courage to rid the country of APC’s broom, can best be left to time.
Meanwhile, not to be cowed by the failure of Sowore's #RevolutionNow protest, a group under the aegis of Leadership and Accountability Initiative (LAI), is mobilizing one million Nigerians for an 'Occupy Nigeria Season II' protest similar to the one Buhari was involved with during the Jonathan era. Again, how much effect this latest attempt by the group could have on the Buhari administration, remains to be seen.
