Nigeria will soon commence production of dusters — Sani hails Buhari over pencil factory

A lot has been said and attempts made by previous administration toward the industrialization of Nigeria, but not much has been achieved. However, under the Buhari administration, it appears things may begin to click especially when Buhari's decision to shut down the nation's borders in other to encourage local production and patronage by Nigerians, is taken into consideration.

While the "unpopular policy" as the President called it in a previous statement is still generating mixed reactions, the president insists the country is heading in the right direction.

“It is not an easy job to sell the administration’s services, we are doing unpopular things," the president said in a recent statement.

He added, “But we must do things the right way, if we promised change then we must deliver it."

Recent news that the Buhari administration would support indigenous pencil companies to produce locally, to prevent the country from the importation of the product, is an indication that the Buhari administration is sticking to its policy of discouraging the importation of products produced in the country.

Reacting on the latest development, Senator Shehu Sani of Kaduna State says "FG Initiative on the production of Pencils is commendable," but also took a soft dig at the FG saying Pens, Rulers and dusters are next in line.

Reacting on Twitter, he said, "The FG Initiative on the production of Pencils is commendable, next should be Cleaner/erasers,Biros/Pens,Rulers and dusters.Kudos."
