Kano Abduction: Ali Usman ask "Allan" to bless whoever changed Aisha's name to Chioma

News of the abduction of a number of Kano children by a so called criminal syndicate who specializes in abducting young Muslims from the North and taken to the Southern part of the country where they are subsequently renamed, converted to Christianity and sold to slavery, came as a shock to many.



But that's not what's even more troubling. A new term "Kidnapping for Christ" has been coined by the Muslim Right Concern Group (MURIC), who accused Christians in the country of secret plot to Christianize the country, much like the term "Islamization" as similarly alleged by Christians in the country.


MURIC had in a recent statement said, “Kidnappers have taken over the house of God. The phenomenon of kidnapping for Christ has now rented the air. We are shocked to our marrows.

“It is the height of acrobatic religiousity, gymnastic spirituality and paradoxical criminality. It is such a big shame that some Christian fanatics will live among us only for the purpose of abducting our children, converting them to Christianity and selling them into slavery. Kidnapping for Christ is disgusting, nauseating, wicked and reprehensible.




“We see it as an extension of the ‘Nigeria for Christ’ slogan. Christian evangelists are no longer satisfied with their illegal taking over of commercial vehicles where they scream over the heads of peaceful and law-abiding Nigerians going or coming from work. The overnight vigils where they raise noise level beyond 100 decibels are not enough for them.


“They are now stealing our children as the latter emerge from their Islamiyyah schools. Why do they hate us so much? Why do they pretend to be our neighbours? An open declaration of hostilities would have been better because it would have alerted us to the fact that we are living in the midst of foes."

Of course, you wouldn't expect MURIC's rants to go uncountered.



The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), in its response said, “Criminals abound everywhere and in every religion, and for MURIC to say a crime was perpetrated for Christ, is sheer mischief aimed at provoking Christians.

“How could a rational, sane and educated person, associate the action of criminals to a religion?


“We have have had many instances where Christian girls were abducted, forcefully converted to Islam and married off by criminals in Northern Nigeria. In some of these cases, the police either refused to act or turned blind eyes.

“Will it be right to accuse all Muslims for the action of such criminals?

While the atmosphere is still very tense, one Mr Ali Usman in a comment posted on a post shared by Daily Trust, said while the much talk about "Kidnapping for Christ" rages, no one seem to pay attention to how well one of the abducted girls whose name was changed from Aisha to Chioma, was well taken care of, by whoever abducted her. Ali even went as far as asking God to bless the abductor.


He said, "May Almighty Allah blessed the parson that take good care of Aisha to Chioma, You guys can actually see chioma healthier than Aisha."
