I am suffering for Nigeria — Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has once again reminded Nigerians of his hardwork and commitment toward delivering the dividends of democracy he promised Nigerians about 5 years ago since replacing Jonathan as President in 2015.

The President had said while many fail to acknowledge his efforts towards a better country for all, he remains committed as can be attested through the health challenges he suffered since becoming president.

President Buhari made similar claim on Tuesday while presenting the 2020 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja.

The President whose comment was greeted by burst of uncontrollable laughter and applause from all who where present inside the chamber, including the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, apologised for his voice saying suffering from cold. He, however, attributed his ailment to his hard work as the President of the country.

He said, "Before I proceed to read the details of the budget, let me apologise for my voice.

"As you can hear in my voice, I have cold because I am working hard."

In a show of solidarity, House Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, sympathised with the President on his cold.

"Mr President, sorry about your cold," Gbajabiamila told the President while delivering his address shortly after Buhari presented the 2020 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly.
