Fani Kayode has a word for David Cameron, and it's not nice

It is over 5 years since over 270 Chibok girls were abducted by Boko Haram. While some of the girls were subsequently released, there remains many others whose current states remain unknown.

Five years certainly may seem too long for a country whose president rode his way to power with the promise of fixing the damages done by his predecessors, only to worsen the situation all the more. You therefore, will be forgiven for being overwhelmed by the many troubles under the Buhari administration that you even forgot some girls were abducted some time in 2014.

However, while it seem like a forgotten issue, former British Prime Minister David Cameron, has raised the dust by accusing former President Goodluck Jonathan of "sleeping on the wheel" while his house burns. Cameron said, help was offered to the Nigerian government to secure the release of the abducted girls, but to its dismay, Jonathan turned down the offer.

Cameron's revelation as published in his recent memoir, ‘For the Record’, was expectedly refuted by Jonathan, but reactions trailing Cameron's revelation suggests we won't see the end of this latest episode any time soon.

Adding his voice to the lists of those reacting to the latest accusation against Jonathan, is former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode. The former minister said Cameron has caused Nigerians enough pains and should rather focus on cleaning up his BREXIT mess instead of raising dust with false claims against the Former president.

He said, "The David Cameron that said that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was "sleeping on the wheel" is the same David Cameron that said Nigerians are "fantastically corrupt".

"What makes this notorious, vain, arrogant, racist and pompous Englander believe he can get away with spewing such venomous foibles and indulging in such falsehood and mendacity.

"He should clean up the BREXIT mess he created in his own country rather than poke his big and unwelcome nose in the affairs of ours. Nigeria stopped being a colony of the British 59 years ago.

"We reject his stereotypical and insulting labels and his asinine, jaundiced, absurd and outlandish claims and assertions.

"The Nigerian people are honorable, courageous, decent, diligent, kind, civilised, industrious, resilient, loyal, tolerant, accomodating, honest, God-fearing and hard-working people.

"We are not "fantastically corrupt" and we will no longer tolerate his condescending and downright insulting vituperations.

"When you consider world history you will agree with me that it was not the Nigerian people that enslaved, pillaged, robbed, slaughtered, subjugated, oppressed, humiliated and utterly destroyed the lives of hundreds of millions of people and a quarter of the world's population at the twilight of its accursed empire. It was the British.

"We do not need lessons about corruption, how to drive at the wheel or anything else from such people."
