While presenting the budget, Buhari said the federal government is targetting a revenue of N8.155 trillion; N2.64 trillion from oil revenue, N1.8 trillion from non-oil tax revenue and N3.7 trillion from other revenues.
Buhari said the appropriation bill is based on the new VAT rate “which will help finance health, education, and infrastructural programmes.”
But reacting on his official twitter handle on Wednesday, Sani said Buhari’s 2020 budget will take Nigerians out of Sodom and safely land them in Gomorrah.
The Budget will take us out of Sodom and safely land us in Gomorrah.— Senator Shehu Sani (@ShehuSani) 9 October 2019
His words, "The Budget will take us out of Sodom and safely land us in Gomorrah.
Sani is well known for his criticism of the Buhari administration and this latest tirade comes as no surprise. But don't let his reaction fool you into thinking Buhari has been sleeping on the wheel since 2015.
The President in a remark made during his budget presentation at a joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja, said, he has suffered several health problems due to his immense commitment toward fixing a battered country handed to him by his predecessors.
"As you can hear in my voice, I have cold because I am working hard."
