Kogi Politics: Melaye rejects PDP Guber primary result, says it's unacceptable

Senator Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, has reacted to the outcome of the PDP governorship primary election held in the state on Tuesday.



Recall that Musa Wada, an engineer, has emerged candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the November 16 governorship election.

He defeated other aspirants, including Idris Wada, his elder brother who is the immediate past governor of the state.




Engr. Musa Wada scored 748 votes, followed by Abubakar Idris with 710 votes, the former governor Captain Idris Wada came third, while Senator Dino Melaye came fourth.

But reacting, the Senator described the outcome of the election as unacceptable, alleging that the result did not reflect the will of the electorates.



Melaye, in a tweet on his verified twitter handle, wonders why votes belonging to him which were sorted out in eight out of ten ballot boxes were missing, while only two out of ten ballot boxes are his own.


His words, "It is rediculous to declare a final result of Pdp Governorship primary election in Kogi State when my votes sorted out yesterday in 8 out of 10 ballot boxes are missing. Only to declare votes in 2 out of 10 ballot boxes as my votes. Totally unacceptable. Senator Dino Melaye
