BREAKING: Buhari in-line to lose at Supreme Court following Adamawa ruling

A strong ground for President Muhammadu Buhari's eventual loss at the Supreme Court has been established following a recent ruling by Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Yola, Adamawa State, on Monday September 23rd, 2019.

The tribunal in its ruling on Monday, sacked Musa Umar Bororo, an elected lawmaker of the All Progressives Congress, for certificate forgery.

Bororo's sack came following what the Tribunal considers as 'inconsistencies' in his names as reflected on different documents submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Delivering the verdict, Justice Akanbi held that Bororo presented documents with conflicting names to INEC and therefore ruled that “Musa Umar Bororo” was not the same as “Musa Bororo”.

Following it's ruling against the APC lawmaker, Justice Akanbi went ahead to order INEC to issue certificate of returned to Yakubu Dirbishi of the Peoples Democratic Party as winner of the election for the position.

However, the Adamawa State Election Petition Tribunal's ruling is in stark contrast to that of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal between the People's Democratic Party’s candidate in the last presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and President Muhammadu Buhari.

Atiku in his petition, challenged Buhari's eligibility to contest in the last election saying he lacks the academic qualifications as required by law, to vie for the number one office in the country.

However, in its ruling exactly two weeks ago, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal dismissed Atiku's petition holding that the inconsistencies in names as noted in the affidavits Buhari submitted to INEC and names of the President in his form CF001, does not invalidate his eligibility as the name "Mohamed Buhari" is the same as "Muhammadu Buhari".

The PEPT's ruling in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari has attracted condemnations from critics who called it a gross miscarriage of justice in a desperate bit to keep Buhari in power.

Meanwhile, the People's Democratic Party and Atiku have formally filed 66 grounds of appeal against the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal at the Supreme Court as a last attempt to securing what they consider a stolen mandate.

Should the Supreme Court ruling falls in-line with that of the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Adamawa against Musa Bororo of the APC, President Muhammadu Buhari will be sacked as president, and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP be declared president.
