What if the 5 million people pulled out of poverty are kidnapped? Sani asks Buhari

Sen. Shehu Sani thinks security is as important as fighting poverty.
There's virtually nothing Buhari does that won't attract criticism, not even from those who dined and wined with the President.

Surely, not everything the president does is bad, but the fact that millions of Nigerians out there see almost nothing good in the current administration, speaks volume on how disconnected the masses are from those on the seat of power. Even Buhari's diehard supporters are beginning to have a rethink especially on how the president handles his anti corruption war.

The President recently claimed his administration has pulled five million Nigerians out of extreme poverty in the past four years of his administration, but predictably, not everyone is buying it. Folks like Senator Shehu Sani would simply say, "Well done Mr President, but how about the security of these very people?" That's critic for you alright, and that's exactly what the Senator insinuates in his recent reaction to the news.

The former Kaduna Senator has his doubts on the legitimacy of Buhari's claim, but says even if that were true, it makes little sense if these very same people don't feel safe from activities of Bandits, Insurgents and Herdsmen in the country.

He tweets, "If actually 5 Million people have been lifted out of poverty, that is commendable, but extra efforts should be made to ensure they are safely camped away from Bandits,Insurgents and Herdsmen."

Buhari who's currently battling the legitimacy of his re-election in court against the People's Democratic Party’s Presidential candidate in the February 23 presidential election, has drawn the ire of the public when his ministerial nominees where made public. Although ministerial screening has been completed, many are with the opinion that the President cannot be fighting corruption and still have corrupt Nigerians in his cabinet.
