Tokyo Conference: Buhari may consider his options following threats by IPOB

President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to visit Japan on Sunday 25th.
If the recent attack on former Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu in Nuremberg Germany is anything to go by, and recent threat by Nnamdi Kanu to disgrace high profile political leaders in the country who venture out of the country is to be taken seriously, then President Mohammadu Buhari has a lot to worry about with his trip to Japan only a few hours from now.

A report published by Sahara Reporters claimed Buhari who is scheduled to visit Japan tomorrow Sunday 25th, to attend Tokyo International Conference on African Development, in the City of Yokohama from August 28 to 30, is the next target of IPOB.

There's the belief, that attacking Ekweremadu was a message that if IPOB wouldn't spare one of its own, then others expecially the President and his appointees should expect similar treatment from the pro Biafran group.

The report says Kanu has instructed IPOB supporters in Japan to disgrace and arrest the president when he arrives in the Asian country on Sunday.

Kanu ordered the group to arrest the president and hand him over to the Japan authorities for his supposed human rights violation between 2015 and 2019.

He also stated that IPOB would be ready for the legal consequences of their actions.

Buhari's handling of the country since his election in 2015 is seen as more of tyranny than a democracy. The president has been accused of human rights violations for not respecting court orders nor acting within the ambit of the law.

His recent arrest of Omoyele Sowore of Sahara Reporters and leading figure of the #RevolutionNow movement in country, has been seen as a true reflection of his administration right from inception to date.

Whether or not this recent threats by IPOB would force the president to consider his options ahead of his trip to Japan, remains to be seen. But the president will not allow himself be seen as weak by choosing to delegate someone else instead of attending the event himself.
